    I would be very surprised if they routinely contacted doctors etc before making their initial decision. That would imply they were being fair and thorough.

    They usually do.

    You do not get DLA simply because you are disabled, despite the name. You have to show what specific needs you have.

    For care component DLA you need to show that you have problems with personal care (e.g. problems cooking, bathing, dressing) and for mobility component DLA you need to show that you have problems walking out of doors.
