Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
why is it that when i go out (eg dancing) i get chatting up, brought drinks, danced with, told that im good looking and so on; yet in my normal day i don't even get a second look by guys?(im a girl)

i have alot of older male friends (about 20 years older) who i meet at the pub, who says that they can't believe im single and they say that im good lookin and funny. i also have male friends my age (16) who say that im a laugh too.

so why is it that no-one will ask me out.? (please bare in mind that im not desperate, just kinna concerned/worried)

well when you go out dancing most peoples intention is to pull. But in a normal day, you don't go out with the same intention. That's why.
You also can't expect the lads to look at you, you've got to make an effort to look at them aswell. If they notice that your looking at them they might be interested.

Perhaps these older blokes are after one thing? Of course blokes are going to say things like this when you're out dancing and drinking because they want to cop off with you!

That's exactly the same as what happens to me - when I go to the pub/clubbing, i constantly get chatted up etc, guys tell me I'm gorgeous, yet I'm still single! What's up with that? Ugh, men!!!

bacardi i bet lots of blokes see and like you and want to ask you out
yet in my normal day i don't even get a second look by guys

Its maybe for lots of reason, Bloke being shy, You maybe don't look so freindly to ask out, (You look so good is not worth trying to talk to you because your already have a bf) all things i find that stop me talking to girls in the street.(Plus we all feel braver when we had a drink).

Why can't you ask out a guy if you see one you like??????

If you leave everything to us men nothing will get done!!

"we all know how randy blokes are when there pissed dont we!!!"

Of course, and we all know that women NEVER think about sex or get horny when they're out drinking in a pub/ club atmosphere (??!!)

Get a group of women together and they're ten times worse than men.
I know, I drink mainly with girls and I'm often shocked by how loud and offensive they can get!!
Women dress to pull, whether they admit or not.
Why do they spend so long choosing outfits, doing hair, make up etc when they're "only going out with the girls"?!

answers to afew questions you guys have asked:
i have very long hair, brown eyes, size 12, (or ten in america) big (ish) boobs...
i go for slightly older guys, who have to be able to make me laugh and to able to treat a girl right eg let her like her football!lol
oh and i do go out alot, pubs, movies, meals, football (i know it is now the end of the football season!)

have to agree with Harmless...this is in no way a slight on you (your description sounds very nice), just an observation on men....

At nightclubs, most people are on the pull, during the day they aren't always....to get a guy to ask you out you need to have guys, of similar(ish) age to have conversations with first....

EASY--- alcohol--- gets rid of all inhibitions and worries people may have and they just go for it-- plenty of people will fancy you durin the day, but simply be too embarassed to go up and ask you-- in a club, obviously the atmosphere is more orientated around sexual contact, and the openness of every1 gives people the confidence to ask-- happens to everyone hun, dont worry

Seriously don't stress. It's when you're not looking that you find what you want...me and my ex case in point. I was hurt and bitter and didn't want a relationship, I met her and went out for two years. Relax, enjoy life, there's more to it than finding someone to go out with.
