Hello, I have added a page to my site about personal safety. It is aimed at students but I hope anyone could find it useful. If you want to take a look, follow the link in my siggy and it's under Advice. Please leave any comments in the guestbook.
Thankyou :-)
If you think I should add anything let me know.

the only thing i have been aware of recently is road rage, and being safe in your own car
my friend was in her car and there was a blocked road i dont know what happened but this guy got out of his car and started banging on her window - the way she got rid of him was to keep her hand on the car horn and she got out some lipstick and wrote the guys number plate on her window so the guy could see. He shat himself and drove off <IMG alt="image" SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0">
Thanks :-)
Also girls... don't try to punch your attacker... always go for a slap... if you can, over the ear. This will generate a good deal more pain and cause temporary disorientation, and possibly deafness. You can use this time to run away.
I'll let you off as it was good advice...
As for our spam rules we usually don't like .com's being plugged unless they are helpful to the thread.
If a new user comes on and just posts links whether it be their own site or others, we remove the links as they aren't members of the community yet. You on the other hand are, but if we think the advice you are giving is bad, we'll remove the link too.
And of course any porn gets removed too!
On the subject of personal safety, we have an article for men here: http://www.thesite.org/info/legal/abuse/personal_safety_for_men.html

i'd just like to say that i think TheSite should be congratulated for covering the other side of the coin here. KrazedKT's site was very good, and did at least mention attacks on men, which most bits of advice don't, but even so, it was mainly aimed at women i thought. i'm lucky in that i go to uni in Aberystwyth, which has just abt the lowest crime rate of anywhere in the UK, so i have never felt threatened whilst out and about in town. this is mostly because all the young ppl are students, and don't tend to be yobs, and schoolkids are small enough for me to kick the shit out of if anything ever happened (which i've never felt it would). but back home near Bristol, i often had to walk home through the town centre on friday and saturday nights after work. around this time the violence in the centre had gotten so bad that the need was felt to deploy a large part of the Avon & Somerset Constabulary's Mounted Division to control the town. (this is a small town of ~13,000 people) i always felt really vulnerable, especially walking past the kids as they chucked eggs and rocks at the police vans/horses and shop windows, even though nothing ever happened. i would have liked to have known what to do, so this is a help. any ideas on what to do if ur attacked by a gang of women - it happens . . . . .
I broke one of my own rules yesterday, tut tut. In Cardiff city centre, you always get about a million people coming up you for charity, money, fags, etc etc. It does my head in. I mean, do I look like I have money-er no. So last night, it was dark and all the shops were closed, this trampy looking guy approached me and before he said anything I said "No Thanks". He gave me a filthy look and said "Well thanks very much". The cheek of it, so I turned round and shouted "THANKS YOURSELF!" luckily he wandered off. Oh well, end of story. I'm just sick of people coming up to me.
