Can someone please explain to me what nap, stay stitching and selvage are please? :confused:

    The nap describes the type of fabric, for example velvet, has a nap, as when you slide your finger downwards, it's soft, but then upwards it's prickly - that's the nap.

    The selvage is usually the unusable edge of a piece of fabric.

    Stay stitching is a single line of stitching, through one layer of fabric, to stabilize the fabric, preventing it from becoming stretched or distorted

    hehe sorry! i'm thinking a nice deep blue, possibly corduroy. the pattern suggest heavyweight fabrics

    a week into it i'll be tearing my hair out. i've never put in a zip either!

    i bleach tie-dyed some blue cord flares once, they were ace!
