Samsung D600 Question

Quick question. My boyfriend is coming to America today and he needs to phone me once he gets to the airport, he has a Samsung D600 phone on Pay as you Go O2. Does anyone know if he will be able to use his phone?? Im stressing out incase he cant get intouch! I should have thought about this before but never mind!!

    As far as I know, most (if not all) phone providers nowadays enable roaming by default. So it should be fine.

    His phone at the very least needs to be triband.
    He also needs to ring up O2, put loads of credit on his phone and tell them where he is going so they can activate it.
