Under Saddam, Iraq prospered with an established middle class; if you accepted the status quo, you were left to get about your business.
Now over 300,000 have died and the country is polluted with DU. Saddam was no saint, but on those facts, it's hard to see how he couldn't have been the lesser of two evils.
