Is a hairy face beautiful or beastly?

I headed off to the World Beard and Moustache festival in Brighton to ask the question that's on everyones lips . . . . Is life better with facial hair?

What do you think? Turn off or turn on? Nice to grow or a definate no no?

    I used to think I would hate it. And then Rich grew his facial hair, and after the point where it started being long enough that it was soft instead of scratchy, I really really loved it. Then he shaved it off, and now I hate that he's always smooth :(.

    I've had some strange experience with beards. First of all, let me say that people sometimes tell me I look older than I am (I'm 22, I've heard some say they thought I'd be 25-26).
    However, I might be wrong but I tend to notice people treating me like a kid when I have a beard and with a bit more respect when I'm shaven. Can a beard make you look younger?

    It might make you look like you're trying to look older, which would effectively make you look younger. Depends on how manly it was.

    Well that sucks then. I don't like looking younger, but I hate shaving too. Too time-consuming, which is the only reason I do it rarely.

    a little in essencial, even if it's just a little bit under the bottom lip...

    stubble is horrible though...

    and i'm not to keen on a full beard

    Not keen on facial hair at all to be honest. I don't mind stubble, it can look quite sexy...Josh Holloway (I know I'm obsessed) has quite long stubble and I think it looks hot, and on some rockers (like Dave Grohl for example) a little goatee beard type can look cool, but that's all. Proper beards = :no: for me. What about moustaches though? I quite liked Tom Selleck's when he was playing Richard in Friends...not sure what it'd be like to kiss someone with one though :chin:

    i've wanted a full on captain birdseye beard for a few years but never got round to it, plus the other half doesnt agree with beards. but i think beards are sexy

    My boyfriends beard grows so weird but I love it. It's like Pai Mei's beard in Kill Bill, but not as long and kinda gingery. Funny because my boyf has jet black hair.

    incidently, how are these people chosen, are they just asked in the street. and how come you either a)don't ask their age, or b) lie about their age?

    incidently, Kev "24" (real age 28) came third in the "world in the unwaxed natural moustache category" according to Rob :D
