Knives

How do you get rid of old knives? My grandma has about 5 or 6 old kitchen and bread knives that she's accumulated over the years and since replaced as they've become old and useless. She doesn't want to keep them, but doesn't know where to get rid of them. They're not the kind of thing you can just chuck in the wheely bin really! Any ideas?

Just take them to the tip, they should be able to get rid of them.

Or see if any of the police stations near you is having a knife amnesty.

Take them to the council or a police station

LOL. I always threw mine in the bin. I didn't realise you weren't meant to.

Could be an ID Thief deterrent anyway?

I snapped a bread knife once - the blade broke from the handle. I just wrapped 3 shopping bags around it to prevent puncturing the lining and binned it. It's the same when disposing of broken glass.
