Bellyachin'

Does anyone ever get the feeling that their stomach/internal organs are being stretched out on a rack? Well, I do, right now.

It hurts like hell if I take deep breaths or exhale dramatically (ok, maybe I should stop taking deep breaths and exhaling dramatically ), when I stand up from a sitting position, and if I stretch out. I have been in absolute agony for the last two days, I didn't sleep a wink last night because of it. Was at the hospital today and asked the doctor (who was, admittedly, a paediatrician... not that that really makes a difference) who amusingly said it was "growing pains". Was talking to my Dad about it at lunchtime and he said "oh, sounds like internal bleeding" so after all those helpful suggestions I thought I'd turn it over to you lot.

Anyone had anything like this? I had a stretching kind of feeling early on in pregnancy but this is MUCH more painful and consistent than that :(

Oh and what can I do to relieve it? I've tried fluids, hot water bottle, walking, fresh air, not having any caffeine etc. Bleurgh.
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

I dont have a clue what it could be my dear, but rub deep heat over your tummy as it is like a permanent hot water bottle.

Are you due to come on? Could it be ridiculously bad period pains?

Or, are you sure it wasn't triplets you were expecting, and one is coming out today? ;)

Anyways, I am sorry I am not much use, but I hope the deep heat works, and if it gets worse give NHS Direct a call - that is my answer to everything in life.

P.S. Little thing called PM Bridget! :p

Nope I haven't spoken to her about it. I thought it was just a stitch at first because it does feel a bit like that, but I've never had a two-day stitch before. She's coming on Wednesday to talk about the move and do a check-up but I might give her a call now actually.

Deep heat might help, might try and get hold of some. I'm not due on and this is really a different kind of feeling to period pains - even the worst ones.

I will definitely try the Ginger Beer :yum: Though won't fizz make things worse...?

If it carries on and is really that bad insist on a scan.

You know that really really bad stomach bug that was going around sometime near xmas? well we thought dad had it. He was crying with the pain it was so bad, and he has a high pain threshold. Ended up seeing the gp and after two weeks on antibiotics got referred to a specialist. They operated that night to remove a 10cm abcess in his bowel and a smaller one somewhere else and he had a temporary colostomy for three months whilst everything healed.

Admittedly he went private, but it was an emergency operation none the less. Caused we think by an inflamed appendix touching his bowel and causing scar tissue a couple of years ago, but after that nothing is worth taking a risk over.
