Simple meals

What simple meals do you like ?

I usually cook something from scratch most nights, but sometimes i like a plain, simple meal like egg and chips (with runny yolks to dip your eggs in) or poached eggs on thick, toasted crusty doorsteps.

    I cook from scratch most nights too. My 'can't be arsed to cook meals' are - pasta and pesto, omelettes, homemade potato wedges and a dip of some sort, jacket potato and a filling. simple stuff really.

    I very rarely use ready meals.

    Toast with peanut butter. Pizza rolls. Cearal, milk, spoon and bowl. If I feel like going all out, a sandwich.

    I have to fend for myself tonight :(

    Fusili Pasta with veggie sausages (the frankfurter kind) sliced, mayo (or another dressing) mixed herbs - served with salad. I haven't had it for ages actually - but it's simple and delicious.

    That sounds really good. Do you put the cheese on the pasta? What kind?

    If you flash up the chopped chilis in a pan, and then on low heat add a fair bit garlic and little butter for a minute to release the garlic. Mix it into a bowl of hot pasta and grate some Chedder or parmesan in it's :yum: Salt and pepper to taste.

    If you put too much cheese in though it'll become too rich.

    Good for making your breath stink.

    ETA you can always add a bit of oregano, or cumin, or corrianda or any herb or spice really, with the garlic and butter for a change.

    I quite like mexican dips;

    Add the following to an oven proof dish in this order;

    - One can refried beans (yes I know it looks and smells like dog food but its ok honest)
    - Tinned tomatos
    - Diced onion
    - Spices, garlic, a little cumin, chilli, season all - that sort of thing.
    - Spinach (chopped)
    - Mozarella cheese

    Then bake till the cheese is all melty and serve with tortilla chips.

    Microwaved jacket potatoe and tuna is my fast easy meal, always got the stuff for that.

    Or if I'm buying something I want to for a quick cook meal, the thin turkey steaks (sure that's not the right word) dipped in beaten egg then breadcrumbs and fried. With cold potatoes and followed by fruit. We've always got breadcrumbs in the freezer and it takes 10 mins max from starting to on the plate.

    Mmm, omlettes, pasta with pesto and poached salmon, toasted tomato sandwiches (these are great, toast some bread and crush some garlic and rub the garlic onto the hot toast, then chop the tomatoes up, put on the bread with some salt and pepper and maybe a little basil. Eat. Yum :D). Also, poached eggs on toast with ham and asparagus, boiled eggs with marmite soldiers. Tonno e fagioli (no idea how to spell that!) with homemade dressing and ciabatta. All quick and easy :D Good for when you can't really be bothered to cook.

    when I can't be arsed to cook, I usally microwave a tin of tomatoes, stir in salt and pepper and cream sometimes, washed down with voda pepsi max, followed by an apple or two. Your simple meals are all complex with ingredients and shit.
