Tea for me

BunnieBunnie Posts: 6,099 Master Poster
I am calling to all cooks and creative ones out there...

I fancy doing something nice for tea but I am in Burnley and dont have my inspirational cook book with me, so you can all be my new cook book.

Anything will do (I can go to Asda), the world is your oyster (well perhaps not oysters though, Im not made of money!)

Hit me with it then....

thanks :)

    tuna steaks. Mmmmm

I had one the other night.

Just grill your tuna steak for a 2 mins. Serve it with chucky sweet potato chips and a green salad and a little bit of lemon zest mayonaise. :yum::yum:

    Welsh rarebit for lunch.

    My Rarebit

    25g butter
    3 egg yolks
2 tsp english mustard or hot horseradish
    100ml Newcastle Brown
    tabasco sauce
    worcestershire sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper
225g stilton or cheddar cheese grated
    4 slices toast

Put the grill to its highest setting.

Melt the butter on low, then let it cool. Mix in the egg yolks, mustard, beer and a dash of Tabasco and Worcestershire sauces. Add salt and pepper, and stick in the cheese.

Stick on toast and under the grill.

There used to be a little teashop in Brighton which made the best Welsh rarebit's ever. I've always wondered how they made it taste so much better than just cheese on toast... I may have to take that recipe down Skive.
