What Food Makes You Feel Ill?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
For me it's eating food that contains hidden oil .. i.e. not food like chips which have been cooked in oil but foods in which oil makes up a large component on the inside of the food like certain crisps, etc?.

Also anything too rich like some really chocolaty or creamy deserts.

There's stuff that tips me over the edge when I'm already feeling sick, but as for making me sick in the first place, if there is something, I don't eat it (probably for this reason). Too many truffle-related chocolate things, and unexpected levels of alcohol being downed make me feel sick I suppose, like when someone makes you a vodka a coke with about half vodka, and you take a big gulp expecting it to taste like a normal V+C. Also when you're hungover and someone makes you a bacon butty, but you can tell the bread's from the end of the packet and isn't quite as fresh as you hoped, and they only put one slice of bacon on there, and you have to force your way through it to be polite, but all you taste all the way through is shitty bread.

The ends of bananas. I eat them all the time, but the little bit at the bottom makes me wretch.

Any foods that have a high GI: white bread, white pasta, refined sugar etc - I slump later on in the day and feel like shit.

Anything too oily, British style curries make me ill as does fish and chips, and sometimes chinese too.

    Also, white bread :yuk:

really fatty foods like Pizza Hut

Also, anything with too much mayo - just a tiny bit will do. Any tinned meat like spam, corned beef etc. Tinned potatoes - so so wrong!

Oh yeah anything with too much garlic - but usually has to be some kind of garlic oil (like garlic butter or garlic sauce) for me I think rather then natural garlic.

    Sweetcorn. Vom.

Or... anything dairy (am lactose intolerant!), egg that's not cooked enough.

Tuna pasta makes me feel all headachy afterwards sometimes. Don't know why.

That's about it. I'll eat pretty much anything, followed by anything. I went through a phase of eating taramasalata on apples for breakfast. I clearly have a stomach of iron!

Coca-cola when used as a mixer with vodka, bacardi etc makes me sick. Even after just 2 drinks I'm sick. Duno why.

I can't think of any food which makes me feel ill.. I'm a bit fussy when it comes to meat though.
