Bit of an odd question - hair dye

Is it possible to dilute a black hair dye (semi perm) to make it more of a toner type thing? I've never seen black toners.

If so, what would you dilute it with? Shampoo?

    I really don't know how that would work. In my experience I've found it's best not to fiddle with hair dye- it can go VERY wrong! How about just using wash in-wash out hair dye?

    i've seen black ones in superdrug, i'm almost sure of it

    i think it was their own brand

    i'm going in a bit, i'll have a look :)
