What were the best things about being a kid?
Going on the bus seemed great (thanks Bad Seed)
Being allowed to post a letter, woohoo!
Playing out till it got dark
Climbing trees and building dens!
Getting sweets or an ice cream made everything seem good![:D :D](https://community.themix.org.uk/plugins/emojiextender/emoji/twitter/grin.png)
Even more so if you got them when you went into town whilst your older brother was at school!!
Even school was just playing though.
You could stay in your pj`s till Saturday lunchtime watching cartoons without anyone calling you lazy.
You could take off all your clothes and run around the garden in really hot weather without getting arrested / neighbours perving at you.

Sitting in the front of the car (well when I was a bit of a bigger kid, anyway).
and the fact that nothing seemed to matter...what an easy life!
Oh and being allowed to stay up untill late when visiters came
Yeah... when my cousins used to come over, the later it got, the quieter we got upstairs in the hope they`d forget it was time to go home!
Hmmm...im bored...:chin:
God. If I do that now...
Reminds me of at primary school when boys lift up your skirt and go "omg i just saw your knickers...ner ner...ha ha..."
Whats wrong with doing that
And Daisy, why can't you do that now?
That fucking sucked, i hated doing that!
what kinda idiots do that?
putting on your party dress and going to some crappy party with a clown in the town hall
Ooooh the magician at them parties...scary things...always used to pick me, but was i one of the kids screaming "pick me pick meeeee" Nooo...but what did he do? Picked me
Climbing trees - I do miss that. It was so fun.
Making dens - Heh, I used to make wicked ones in my room and stay in them for days pretending I was trapped in a cave.
Wearing stupid clothes combinations and looking cute, for example an orange minnie mouse dress, pink jelly shoes and a black velvet handbag.
Being able to have petty arguments with people and justify it with the fact they took your pencil, looked at you funny, picked a leaf off the ground etc.
Missing assemblies at school to peel glue off the spreaders and pots.
Freedom to play out in the fields all evening because you have no study or revision to do.
Not knowing many swear words or sexual things.
Just having that childhood innocence that makes you so happily oblivious to factors that bog you down once you grow up ie. the capacity for people to be completely shit, the way the world can be grossly unfair, your looks, people's perception of you etc.
Wah! Peeling glue - we used to spread it over our hands so we could peel it off... I`d completely forgotten about that!!
Sure I managed to wrap someone up in the damned thing.
By accident.
Oh but peeling glue...
that was the best thing in the entire world. Why did we stop doing that?
*wanders off to find a pot of PVA*
God... does anyone else remember the smell of Copydex?!
Copydex...rings a bell.
What is it, like tippex?
I remember putting PVA on my carpet...but alas, no peeling would work
Ooh fish fingers... :eekL
Peelability. That's the important factor.
I think that scientific experiements should be conducted into the peelabilty of different substances.
Getting stickers from the dentist.
Wet play time = multilink!
Sticker books. Rendered a generation of school kids penniless.
I always wondered why I like the rain...now I remember what started it all...
