  will indeed be a mess. Look at the real state of Afghanistan at this time. Despite our promises, we virtually left it in limbo. The warlords are reasserting their criminal empires, poppy fields and heroine is flowing again, little stability, and very few actual rights have been given to women. Most are not better off now since they can be raped without fear of Taliban execution. The only thing the gov cares about is that damn pipeline they have now cleared the way for and will be paying warlords to protect like brutal mercenaries for years to come. No real shining democracy created there is there?
  
  More like a thriving money vacuum with private armies all round.
  
  You think we can do any better in Iraq? or would have the money or interest to force our will on them for very long without more shit being hurled back or the escalation of the whole region into tribal conflict.
