For ages ive suspected i have endometriosis because ive always ever since getting my period suffered really bad with them and my sister has it too (she also thinks i have it). But I just feel so stuck around it because I dont feel able to go to the doctors because of my c-ptsd and trauma. Ive also been told it can take like 10 years to get a diagnosis which i don't think i can put myself through that

But its just so miserable being curled up in pain in bed constantly shaking because its so bad and feeling super dizzy when I stand and sometimes im not even on my period!!
This amount of pain is not normal!

The GPs in my practice are only male too making it 10 times harder
Im Just so done with the pain

@SunsetDucky it's awful that you have to fight so hard to get the support that you deserve, and you absolutely do deserve the support. How are you feeling this afternoon? Has there been any relief from the pain?
-
I know you said you're hesitant to reach out to the GP because of your c-ptsd and trauma. I'm wondering, is there a particular GP at your practice that you feel more comfortable with? Would you feel more comfortable going to speak with a female GP?
-
I'm not sure how helpful it would be, but if you wanted to me to check if we have any resources on endometriosis I could look and share them with you if you'd like?
Thankyou for the reply @Sabah i really appreciate it

Nah im still curled up in bed in pain, I managed to push through it a little and get an hour of college work done though which is the most ive done all Easter. I dont think it helps the fact I cant take painkillers but even then i dont think they would do anything.
-
No, not really. Ive not actually ever seen the GP at the practice im at as I tend to avoid going full stop but also its like impossible to get an appointment (even though it was only once that I tried). I still wouldnt like it but a female gp definitely would be so much better. Especially with the topic its around as I feel it links fairly close to the trauma I went through (sa). Only thing is there isnt one at my practice.
-
I dont mind, I wouldnt want to be an inconvenience!
@SunsetDucky an hour of college work is brilliant! Can I ask what's stopping you from having painkillers?
-
You're not an inconvenience at all. I've included a couple of links below and I really do hope they help. I of course would hundred percent encourage you to reach out to your GP for support - fighting for medical support especially around something like Endometriosis is incredibly difficult but you absolutely deserve all the support there is for this - but I would never tell you do so something that would make you feel uncomfortable. If picking up the phone to make an appointment is too much right now, then I hope the resources will help you in the mean time. And I do hope you manage to find some relief from the pain. What are you plans for this evening? Hopefully something relaxing (or something to distract you)?
