We haven't had a Good News Friday in a bit so, surprise! It's on a Thursday! I found this yesterday and honestly don't want to wait until tomorrow to share. Non profit organization 'Urban Rivers' (whose mission is to "transform urban waterways into wildlife sanctuaries") have built a floating wetland on the Chicago River to help detoxify the river from pollution, and help habitats for wildlife flourish! Learn more here https://urbanrivers.org/mission It's a bit of old-ish news but one to highlight I think!

Happy Good News Friday all! Today's comes from Fleetwood in Lancashire where primary school children have taken part in a pen pal project where they have written letters to some members of the local leisure centre "in the hope of reviving the lost art of letter writing" and bringing two generations together. It's a lovely idea to build community and create connections (two things I know we've been discussing lately on our boards). Have any of you ever had a pen pal?

Happy Friday all, I'm sure a lot of you have been following the story of little monkey Punch who was rejected by his mother…but there has been positive updates for Punch this week! It looks like Punch is making friends and progress within the group of monkeys at Ichikawa Zoo, yay!

Happy Friday everyone! I found a brilliant little roundup of some of the most positive news from around the world.

    It includes:

    • Indigenous river defenders are celebrating after winning a David versus Goliath battle against the Brazilian government and corporate giants over plans to industrialise an Amazonian waterway.
    • Ageing in older life is often portrayed as a steady slide towards physical and mental decline – a new study challenges that. Mental decline ‘not inevitable’ with age.
    • Lawmakers in Vietnam have passed legislation regulating artificial intelligence, making it the first country in southeast Asia to place safeguards on the fast-moving technology.
    • The UK’s green economy grew by 10.2% in the last year, outpacing the nation’s broader economy, which grew by just 1.3% in 2025.

And much more! Click the link to learn more: https://www.positive.news/society/good-news-stories-from-week-10-of-2026/

Happy Friday everyone! I know things feel a bit overwhelming here at the moment, but I have some good news from the world of football recently that I wanted to share with you all!

    -

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cz6e5gg2egyo

16-year-old Arsenal player Max Dowman has recently become the youngest football scorer in Premier League history, after he scored in the 97th minute of the Arsenal v Everton game on Saturday 14th March! This adds to his current records as the youngest player in the Champions League, the youngest player to start for Arsenal and the youngest Arsenal Player to feature in the FA Cup!!

    -

There has since been videos of Max Dowman going into school with all of his fellow schoolmates and teachers welcoming him and giving him a huge round of applause!

    -

This is such an inspirational story of someone who has become determined to make his mark in football history, and has achieved that at just 16 years old!

Friday again! Here's a good news story I loved this week…

    -

A teenager from Jersey, Lexie, has spoken to the BBC about how performing has helped them with their stammer. Stammering is a speech condition that has been highlighted recently as Jessie Stride appeared on The Traitors and spoke about her experiences with a stammer.

    -

Lexie, who grew up with their stammer, has been cast as one of the lead roles in Youth Arts Jersey's production of Our House, based on the music from band Madness. They have said they hope that their performance inspires and encourages other people with speech conditions to not hold themselves back.

    -

Singing has been really important in Lexie's journey and is something they feel really passionate about. They found their safe space at Youth Arts Jersey, have you ever looked at the youth centres and projects near you? Maybe you could find your calling and some likeminded people!

    -

They highlighted how important representation is, stating 'I was going through life thinking I was the only person who's ever gone through this'. I'm sure that is a sentiment a lot of people can resonate with, for one reason or another.

    -

A really positive piece of news and an important message! Remember that the community here at The Mix is here to support you if you ever feel alone.
