This is a very handy perspective for us to know @independent_ - we definitely don't want to prevent people from using our discussion boards because the text box is tricky to use
@Katie I only have one from you and that is the one you have just done @Katie 😌
Okay last 5 mins and then I'll switch it back
@Katie noooooo the tagging is fun 😂 it’s making me happy hahaha a
I'm quite good at finding little workarounds, and I've found a few here today, but it is complicated to use. The other one primarily relies on typing which is miles better for accessibility, whereas this one seems to rely more on pressing things to make the text go how you want it. It's the format many sites are adopting, but it is annoying from an access perspective and imo, people testing who don't use screen readers on a daily basis don't really understand the pain.
haha is it the drop-down you're enjoying @River ?
this was defo Katie’s plan to get there post count up hehehe
I hear you completely @independent_ and I'm very grateful you've taken the time to test this on both your phone and your laptop. You're right that it is tricky to fully test these functions when I don't have a screen reader myself but all your points here are so understandable and I will definitely pass it onto the tech team and express how important it is that our discussion boards remain accessible for all! Very grateful for your feedback !!
I don't think i did @River but maybe I did and yes @River i'm dragging this sentence on too so i can tag you too aha! Maybe it notifies you if you're quoted.
hahaha how did you know @River …
Thank you so much for all your feedback and testing this with me folks!! I will pass it all onto the tech team ASAP
My double enter is back!!
And yes, accessibility is so important, and even among technical experts, their knowledge of screen readers and how they work is super limited. Something may be useable, but the key word there is useable, not necessarily fun or easy to use.
