They aren't even similar so how can you compare?
But, if I had to pick one it would be Linkin Park because I reckon the lead singer has a nicer voice.
Incubus: good band.
Linkin' Park: Shitty little commercialised pop group, disguised as talent.
In my opinion.
*Agrees wholeheartedly*
I'm either getting theirs, the Red Hot Chillies or Morcheeba album tomorrow.
Because I want Brandon Boyd's babies. No other reason
Pop is where the band don't play instruments, they mime on stage and do constume changes at concerts. I am not a LK fan but they aren't pop, they're commerical rock. Just because they're commerical doesn't mean they're pop.
Plus, they didn't 'sell out' because in order to sell out you have to be an underground band who spend years trying to get to the top, and once you do, BANG, you're famous the world over, a household name, playing on the Jonathan Ross show and so forth (No Doubt stylee). They didn't sell out because they were never underground, they just appeared and were commercial instantly.
Most bands like to think their lyrics are meaningful. The majority of bands have lyrics that they can relate to and that are about something in particular.
Some bands write lyrics that are meaningful and they still sound shit, and some bands just write lyrics that rhyme or sound alright, and they end up as masterpieces.
Take the lyrics to 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. They are pants really. They have very little meaning, at least to me they don't, yet people rate that song as the 'song of a generation'.
Some people like Incubus, some people like Linkin Park, some like neither and some both. Get over it, it is pointless to start a thread asking people which band is better when they sound nothing alike and play different kins of music, it is like asking who is better between lennox lewis and david beckham - both sportsman but of a very different variety.
Certain different shade of green ..? Its about waiting at traffic lights after they turn. IMHO
The real thing : its about drinking coke. Just because it coulkd be a truely beatiful and meaningful song about being in love does not alter the fact its about drinking coke.
Ok, now i wait for some-one to tell me what "certain shade.." is really about...
Hmmmm!!!! Disagreement between fans eh!
Song meanings
"To me, this song is a lot like Drive. It tells you that you are the only one that can make your decisions, and do what you need to do. Don't procrastinate and wait for the right moment, or green light, if it never comes or you miss it, you'll never know what might have happened" - I agree with that
I'm not really into either of them, but i'd probably say incubus
Editted to say....
Yay ive just become an insane poster!!!!!! ...not that i care or anything
Listen to the song "certain shade.." read the lyrics. Assume its about waiting at traffic lights after they have turned.
Now listen and read again. Asuming ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT.
Which seems to make more sense?
Quotes
All signs around say move ahead.
Could someone please explain to me your ever present
lack of speed?
My sources say the road is clear,
and street signs guide my way.
Would a written invitation
signed, "Choose now or lose it all,"
sedate your hesitation?
Or inflame and make you stall?
end of quotes.
This could get quite interesting, as there really is no way of proving 1 way or the other...
Unless a band member decides to join the board.
No way, Faith No More are gods compared to Incubus. Incubus are full of depressing shite.
Idlewild and Radiohead would kick the rases of either, mind.
I don't like Linkin Park very much, I wouldn't call myself a fan, I own the album but it was a gift from someone. Anyway, I think it is harsh to say they have no talent.
They can play instruments and the singer dude can sing really really well, he has a gorgeous voice. Just because what they do isn't too your liking doesn't make them talentless. It might be better to say that 'they're just shit' because what they do with their talent is crap.
I hate Slipknot more than any other band in the whole world, but I still wouldn't call them talentless, the ones that play something have a talent - they can play instruments! Not everyone can, and I wish I could, but I can't, so I think it is just a little harsh when people call musicians talentless. ( I used shitknot as an example btw)
Erm, yes, quite. So, what was my point again? Errrrrr, ah yes... just call them shit, but leave the talent thing out of it.
(NB. The dj deck player freaks in both bands don't have any talent at all, lol, oh how I love to contradict myself!!)
But i still don't see how you can compare them like evrybody else has said they both are completely different. If you are going to do a which is better thread then at least choose two similar things.
Linkin Park play a lot of synthesised instruments, which any dumb fuck can play. Thats why they arent much cop live, when they have to play the real thing.
