Work coach leaving

I have a bit of a liking for my work coach, and while I understand that nothing can or could have happened probably between us, I appreciated the time we spent together. I had hoped to build a friendly relationship and continue having appointments with her. However, I just found out that she's leaving next month, which came as a surprise since I thought she was a permanent staff member. I find her attractive a bit and am a bit upset by the news. I only have a few more sessions with her then I won't have her anymore or see her ever again. Would it be ok to ask to keep in touch?

Hey @FordRanger sorry to hear about your work coach leaving, I know it can be difficult when someone you liked or felt supported by moves on to something else. Sometimes a good way to keep in touch with someone professionally may be through a LinkedIn account. (Which can also help for finding work too!

@amy02 that might be an idea, I'd have to create one first and see if she'd has one

If you feel confident enough you could her if you can stay in touch. Worst case scenario is she says no or that she can’t

Hope for the best but prepare yourself for the worst

@FordRanger I think if you want to work with this person you could ask them if they do private sessions and ask if you could have their number to stay in touch and organise something.

If you see them as more than a friend I think if you feel confident enough you could just ask them for their number to stay in touch.

I would suggest that if you do find this person attractive not to follow them on linkedin or ask for more sessions. This way things will stay professional.

@ameliaJayne I might ask to stay in touch if not then I should just get over it, all it really is its just I had a few sessions over a bit of time, got to know her a bit and it's just disappointing that she's leaving.
