@JJLemon18 Haha love D Squad <3 Gregor was (spolier for anyone who doesn't want to know what happens in the D Squad episodes)
the clone that D Squad met who had amnesia and D Squad helped remind him he was a solider and he helped them escape.

Oh wowee you're almost there - ah so you saw the Yoda episodes!
I like how we got to see that Yoda was flawed too and he was able to learn that although things have become bleak with there being no good end to the war, he was given hope for the future in knowing another Skywalker would come... :D

@Gemma Yea I did, and oh boy were they a lot to take in.
This is the most I've seen them build on Yoda's character so that was awesome. Most of the time he is so calm and patient so seeing him actually get sad and worried for everyone was really cool, he's so soft on the inside haha. It was also kinda funny how confused everyone was that Yoda is the one struggling.
Also super sad if you think about it, for the rest of the clone wars Yoda knew they will lose and most of the order will die, but he couldn't tell anyone. Still makes me sad the this is how the story goes but yea, I love the republic era.

@JJLemon18 oh I totally agree - such a sad thing that Yoda knew but had to carry on with the hope for a better future.

Did you know there is an Ahsoka live action series coming out on 23rd August? I can't wait! You'll defo need to watch Rebels before that though :D

    I'm so excited!!

@Gemma Ooh I didn't know, sounds super interesting! And yea, I had a feeling...
I knew Ahsoka would survive the clone wars somehow, but you mentioning rebels kinda reminded me of a spoiler I think I've seen ages ago. She appears in the rebels and probably doesn't die there either right? Just in case maybe don't answer that haha.
Though now I'm having a break for a while before I start season 7. Also how long is the rebels series?

Not sure if you're into games but I'm curious have you seen the two star wars Jedi games? They are my favourite star wars media so far! I think the story of the games is better than some (if not most) of the films. It really puts into perspective what the era after the clone wars looks like in a lot of detail. They have kind of a Rogue One vibe to them. (Plus they're fun to play  )

@JJLemon18 Haha I shall not answer that!

There are 4 seasons of Rebels & I really enjoyed it all :)

Ohh no I hadn't heard about the games - they sound so interesting. I'm going to have to look into them now haha

Do you know I actually haven't seen Rogue One which is next on my list to watch! Is that bad? :D

@Gemma oh you should totally watch it, its really good! Its not a bad thing you haven't seen it, but its like this puzzle piece that explains some stuff from the main films. You'll see ;)

Also you know how I said I'm gonna have a break from the clone wars... my family was busy yesterday so I watched the entirety of season 7 in one day xD But omg it was incredible!! Also the quality was much much better than all the other seasons, it looked kinda strange too, like a mix between 2D and 3D animation. I assume it came out fairly recently?

I really want to see the obi wan series and the rebels seem pretty long, would you say it would be alright if I watch obi wan before the rebels?

Hey @JJLemon18, I watched Rogue One at the weekend and it was so good! You're right that it gave real context for the original films - love how it ended exactly where the first film starts! It is so sad to see all the sacrifices that were made by everyone in the rebellion.

    Omg yayy you finished it!
Honestly cried so much at the ending during Order 66 :( Rex was so strong to try and fight it - I think he really is my favourite character tbh <3

Yes exactly, the quality is sooo much better - I think season 7 only came out in 2020

I watched Obi-Wan before Rebels so I'd say go for it!

I think the only thing I have left to watch now is the Han Solo movie :)

Its so sad, imagine having so many brothers and they all just turn against you like mindless machines and there's nothing you can do about it. I honestly kinda expected a twist where he actually listened to Fives and somehow got rid of his chip, though this was cool as well. I have a strong suspicion that he will appear in the rebels at some point...

And I couldn't wait haha, I've already watched 4 episodes of Obi Wan and I love it! You know when I said the Jedi games have the 'Rogue One vibe'? I take that back! If you really love star wars and really like the Obi Wan series than I'd absolutely recommend playing (if not at least watching someone play) the games. As someone who played both games before, I'm blown away by how much they have in common with the obi wan series and even some clone wars episodes, I definitely love obi wan a lot more because of the games. If you're really not interested in them, then I could explain some cool stuff that happens and why I'm so excited about this haha?

Oh and I've started watching the rebels too in the meantime, though I'm not sure if I like it. The art style is awesome (you were right, the animation is very different) but the way everyone moves is kind of annoying me, especially the lightsaber fights. Also something that bothers me is that the plot in many episodes happens just because someone has tripped over haha, I feel like the narrative is very based for a younger audience but its got a certain charm to it.

Also I'm not a particular fan of the Han Solo movie, the story was so forgettable that I almost can't remember a single thing. I should probably watch it again at some point.

Hey @JJLemon18 - realise it's been a while since our Star Wars chat. How have you been lately? And how are you getting on with the Obi-Wan and Rebels series?

The first two episodes of the live action Ahsoka series come out next week - I'm so excited! (again, don't look this up / don't watch the trailer if you haven't finished Rebels yet!)

I've started rewatching the films in order which has been nice as I understand it a bit more having seen the extra content from the series.

And yes please do tell me more about these games if you'd still like to, I'm so intrigued!

And I totally agree about the lightsaber fights in Rebels - the lightsabers are so pointy they annoy me... :D

@Gemma Hey! Yes it's been a while. I have so much to say haha. I have finished both obi-wan and rebels some time ago and wow they were awesome!! The ending to rebels was one of the coolest moments (if not the coolest moment) in all of star wars! Ngl the rebels were pretty strange at first, they felt like way too many unnecessary quests but then everything came together and it was actually incredible. The ending literally gave me goose bumps.
I'm curious how do you understand the ending and what happened to Ezra? Cause I've seen many people online who didnt get it, or maybe I dont get it but I doubt it, its way too specific.

Also wanted to mention the darth maul obi-wan fight scene... that was comical. My disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined xD

The obi-wan series was so so cool but I feel like it was unnecessarily stretched out. Could have easily been one movie instead but whatever.
The final fight with darth vader was insane!! Probably the best duel I've seen so far.

Now the games (Big spoilers btw)
Some backstory: You play as a jedi padawan/knight named Cal Kestis who survives order 66 and 'The Purge' (the movement to eliminate all remaining jedi. Interestingly I dont remember it being called that anywhere in the films). Now remember the stormtroopers in black armor? Those are called Purge Troopers who work for the Inquisitorium and are a common enemy in the games, so seeing them live for the first time in obi-wan was awesome! The main villains in the first game were the inquisitors, namely the Second sister and the Ninth sister, so again, seeing more inquisitors in obi-wan and the rebels was so cool.

Now the real cool part. The last mission in the first game makes you literally go infiltrate fortress inquisitorius by swimming in from underneath, like obi-wan. There you end up meeting darth vader (which was a big surprise for everyone) and unlike every other boss, they turn him into a horror chase sequence because he's too powerful to defeat in combat xD And you know how you end up escaping from him? But using the force and braking one of the windows causing water to spill in, then you swim out while vader is busy holding the ocean with the force. So yea, there's so much in common which made me so happy =)
Oh and forgot to mention. In the second game you get to see a big part of The Hidden Path (or just The Path).
As you see I really love these games hehe

I probably forgot to say some stuff but I dont want to make you regret coming back to me here haha. Hope you're doing alright :)

@JJLemon18 - apologies for my lateness in replying to this thread - I was actually waiting for Ahsoka to come out until I replied!

I looove the ending of Rebels too, it's just amazing.
In terms of the ending, the purrgils are my favourite <3. Ezra had such a strong connection to animals and the purrgil who he'd helped previously, they returned the favour. I see it as him sacrificing himself for the saviour of the rest of the galaxy, by taking Thrawn with him. The purrgil transporting them both away - I think he saw this as the only option to save the galaxy from Thrawn by taking himself away with him.

Oh wow the games sound so interesting - the path! Must put so much perspective on things.

Have you watched Ahsoka? I haven't watched today's episode yet but otherwise I'm looooving it so far. It's just honestly amazing. Did you watch last week's episode? I almost cried at the ending, it was just perfect. <3

@Gemma Wait so you didn't get the ending either?? Let me explain my thoughts and you tell me if maybe I'm wrong.
So I refuse to believe that Ezra has died. He left them a message at the end hinting at the fact that he will be back, he knew this would happen and that he would survive. He saved Ashoka by taking her out from the past (no idea how that works but whatever), and that is the same way she is going to save him too! Ezra told her to "come back for me", which she does at the right end. She comes for Sabine and Sabine says "Ezra is out there somewhere. And its time to bring him home" (I've literally just rewatched the ending to check exactly what she said lol). Also it makes more sense to save him now that the emperor is 'gone'.

And no I haven't yet watched Ashoka  We're currently watching the Bad batch, then I want to watch the Mandalorian and then Ashoka. I want to make sure I don't miss anything important.

@JJLemon18 haha it was definitely confusing, but I agree with your interpretation of the ending. I actually can't say much more if you haven't watched Ahsoka... it explains all!!!

Oh the Bad Batch, I love Echo so much <3. It definitely took me a while to warm up to Omega though... How are you finding it?

That's a good idea to have all the context before Ahsoka - it's probably become my favourite Star Wars content :) Although Mando was really good too.

    Hope you're doing okay <3
