Just a little reminder!

StarlightStarlight Posts: 1,436 Wise Owl
I was just putting myself down for not feeling good enough and comparing myself to other amazing dancers thinking I’ll never be as good as them. But then it hit me, no I am just as good as them! I’m just as good because I dance like me, I am individual and have my own strengths!! Rather than putting myself down I should’ve been celebrating my strengths and pushing myself to be the best version of myself not pushing myself to be as good as someone else.

We are all individuals, if we were all the same the world would be so so boring and where’s the fun in that? Remember how amazing you are and don’t forget your own talents and strengths. You don’t need to compare yourself to the people around you, or that person you saw on social media because everyone is different, we are all different shapes, sizes, heights and we all have different talents and skills. No one person is better than another, we are all unique and you are amazing just as you are!! Never forget that <3

Just a little message to anyone, like me, that has been struggling with comparing yourself to other people and putting yourself down! You are worth everything you are! <3
“I got you, moonlight, you're my starlight
I need you all night, come on, dance with me”

Thank you for sharing this @Starlight, so beautifully said. I think many of us need that little reminder not to compare ourselves and focus on our strengths like you said!

“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley

This is a lovely post and a very important reminder that we all have our own unique talents and we cannot compare ourselves to others because we are all on a different journey <3
