Some good news about support circle

Hey everyone :wave:

Many of you will have been to support circle, a special kind of sign-up only support chat that happens twice a month.

For those of you who haven't been or aren't sure what it is, here's a quick overview:

What is Support Circle?

A support circle chat follows the same basic structure as a standard support chat session - opening round, support time, and closing round. The key difference is that everyone that signs up will have their own time to chat while everyone else listens and offers support, going around the room. This gives everyone the chance be heard by the group, and have their chance to listen and support others.

Why go to Support Circle?

It's a great space for people who find it difficult to get their voices heard in regular support chat and/or are keen to listen and support others in a more structured environment. If you find regular support chat too busy or difficult to follow, support circle might be for you. We have places for both people who want to come and get support or be listeners and support others.

We really like this format and think it works really well as a complement to regular support chat. We've noticed that many of you are fans too, and we seen lots of people signing up, which is awesome :)

But sometimes we've actually had more people signing up than we have space for!

So, we're really happy to announce that after chat break, we'll be increasing the number of support circles we run!
Instead of running a session every 2-3 weeks, we'll be aiming to run one support circle every week. :hyper:
As now, support circles will happen on Tuesdays.

Hopefully this will mean more of you can come along to these sessions and will be able to get places much more quickly.

    Ahh, that's a shame Independent! We're sticking to Tuesdays for now because that works best with moderator availability, but that doesn't mean we can't do different days eventually :)

    Do you pick and choose who attends support chat, or is it on a first come first serve basis?

    It tends to be first come, first serve Aurora. We'll usually offer places to the people who've been on the list longest.
    The exception to this is when someone's signed up to be a listener only - we have a limited number of spaces for those wanting support, but a more flexible number for those wanting just to offer it.
