Hi I'm Katie I'm 27 and really lonely I have a few friends online but other than that I have no friends that I can do things with, I have disabilities that prevent me from working however I do go to a visually impaired drama group they are nice people but all live too far from me and don't drive (for obvious reasons). I'd like to be to be friends with my neighbour/landlord because he seems quite lonely too and he seems quite shy but I haven't got a clue how to make friends with him if he would even want to be friends I'm really down at the moment because of it all I hope people can understand

    Hi Katie,

welcome to the mix :) perhaps you could make a thread on the boards about how to make friends? :) Your drama group sounds good. Perhaps you can ask your neighbour if he would like to have a coffee/drink with you and then go from there.

Hope to see you around the boards

Hey Katie, and welcome to the boards.

Feel free to create a thread about the loneliness you're talking about over in Health & Wellbeing or Sex & Relationships (whichever you feel it fits with).

I'm Mike, one of the moderators you'll see floating around. Happy posting! :)

    Hiya Katie,

Welcome to the boards!! I'm Eleanor, 14, and completely understand this what you're feeling. As Mike and Jelly suggested, it's absolutely okay to make a specific thread on these feelings of loneliness.

    See you around!

    Hi Katie!
Welcome to the boards. Hope to see you around and hope you find it helpful :)
“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley
