Problematic vole...

Okay, so somehow a vole made its way in to my bedroom and is apparently liking the stay. I'm in the process of making a humane trap for it, so in that respect it's being dealt with (though if anyone has any better suggestions I'll be happy to hear them!). But does anyone have any advice on the other things I should be doing? I'm not really sure how long it's been here or where exactly it's been hiding.
