I know this should go in the student section but often it takes ages to get a reply because not many people go there.
Basically Im completely confused about something which i should know so dont mock me.
Im goin to uni in sept, and my form which has to be sent ot my local authority with like how much my parents earn has been sent off. Im confused though with all the terms. Therefore, what is this actual form, is it how much my parents will have to pay for me to go, because i doubt they'll have to pay anything because we have a really low income, or is it how much money i will get given to me.
Also, where does the student loan fit into al of this? <IMG SRC="wink.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

The other reason for the form is to assess if u need to pay fees. If ur parents earn under 20,000 ( as mine do) then u will have no fees to pay. Then it varies up to the top band of over 40,000 where they pay the full 1100 tuition fees.
I hope that covers everything. I know the forms are a nightmare as i had to fill them out last year then again last week 4 my second year.
Anymore probs just ring ur LEA or u can message me although i'm no expert. <IMG SRC="smile.gif" border="0" ALT="icon"> <IMG SRC="smile.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">
Leese.
What happens is that you have to pay tuition fees to the university. The figure is about £1100, for this academic year, I think. Your parents income is tested to see how much, if any of that, you have to pay. You will be then told by the LEA.
The loan is separate. It is also means tested, to see how much you can get. This will be told to you separately.
Hope that helped.

Oh and my LEA back home only give out 1 form which covers loan and tuition fees. Its one HUGE booklet to fill in.
So much complication - took a year out and now i have no info
Contact your LEA and ask them to send you the application forms and booklets about funding/ finances for higher education.

Just checking, I'm taking a gap year from this september, so I don't need to fill out tuition fee forms right? But I will need to do them next summer, just before I go to university, as far as I can tell. If someone can confirm this or otherwise I'd be greatful.
Thanks folks
Don't wait to be contacted!! my boyfriend went to france on his gap year this year, and if it wasn't for me being a yr younger and therefore @ school, he would have had no idea that he shoulda been filling in the forms!
