This board is far too quiet - so I'm starting off some topics for you! Go on give me something to read and distract me from my real work...
Describe your ideal 'holiday' if money/ war zones and other normal problems were not an issue...where would you go, with who, how would you travel, what would you spend your time doing?

I'm off to Australia for just less than a month at Easter for my dream holiday. I'll be going to Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Alice Springs and Uluru. It should be the trip of a lifetime and I must say I am more excited about this than I have ever been about any other holiday even when I was a young'un.
And since I'm going to be a medic (eventually) I have been thinking about spending some time with the Royal Flying Doctor service there too during my elective. Just to see a completely different style of healthcare delivery than your average friday night at the local A&E.
That's my inspirational holiday.
I think my holiday would be to Iceland. Just accept that. Because really you dont want to know the reasons behind it. Either way - fire and ice. How good does that get?
Who with? Hm. Either a girlfriend, whom I love spending time with. Or someone who knows all about it, and can ski, and fly helicopters and stuff so I can go off the beaten track and right in to the exciting stuff.
Or the Antarctic. Or the Arctic. Russia. Would love to speak Russian, though I don't know why.
And, since you started the thread, Susie, where would your inspirational holiday be to/with etc? If you don't mind answering, of course....
my goal in life is to go to every continent and ive nearly completed that task!
australia is so beautiful - by the way kentish!

-sorry if i sound like im braggin - im not i just love travelling and seein new places
xx
Who with... I don't honestly know. I don't like spending a long time with my friends (meaning 2+ weeks) so it would have to be alone (where I may well get too lonely) or with someone I don't know that well, but want to.
I'd start with flying concorde to New York then work my way across the USA to Los Angeles, then off 2 Australia and New Zealand, I'd spend at least a month backpacking around Oz then head off to Asia to check out Singapore, Thailand, (find that beach from The Beach!)
I'd then spend the summer in Ibiza, Ayia Napa and Magaluf before having a couple of weeks in Amsterdam to chill out!
Another place I'd like to go to is Monaco, just to get away from studying and boring weekend jobs and walk about pretending to be glamourous for a week would be nice!!

South Africa, to go on safari and party in Cape Town.
Sri Lanka to go to the elephant orphanage.
Iceland
Tokyo, to go to Hello Kitty land! And see some Japanese gardens, and eat sushi, yum.
One of these is Italy. Why? It just seems like such a fantastic place. I especially want to see Rome. It seems so romantic and old, so much culture and, of course, great shopping! The best thing is, I may get to see it soon! I do Latin at school (stop laughing!) and the teacher is organising a week long trip to... Pompeii and Rome!! Argh! <IMG SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">
I also want to go to the Caribbean. Apparently there are lots of islands which are still completely untouched by humans. That thought just blows me away, and I'd love to find one, and just spend my time exploring it.
By the way, anybody who is thinking of India, go for it. I've been 4 times and let me tell you something, its the experience of a lifetime. Total and utter culture shock, and the Taj Mahal blows your mind!
Luv moi
