Places I've been and want to revisit:
Australia, as this time I want to go round the entire country, not just the east coast, spectacular though it is. For a long time I wanted to move there, but I think I'd miss my family too much. Sydney is such a gorgeous city, plus it's so much fun to sit through MI2 and the Matrix and go 'I've been there! I've been there!' Cairns is fantastically laid back, and Port Douglas, being plonked in the middle of rainforest, is lush, if a little anty.
Norway, norway, beautiful norway! I'd like to spend more time around the top end, particularly Alesund, and fish in fjords and pretend to be a young Roald Dahl. Dunno if I'd have enough money to cope with Oslo though: last time I was there in 1994 a Happy Meal cost the equivalent of about £5:50. Serves me right for patronising McDonalds.
Cyprus... before everyone goes grr, no, not Ayia Napa. I went there before it got clubbed to death, and it was beautiful. Not so anymore. I'd go for the diving, the monasteries in the troodos, the tiny whitewashed villages full of lazy ex-pat artists, and everything about it that remind me of 'my family and other animals'. Fantastic.
Spain and the south of France. Somewhere like perpignon would be ideal, methinks! I'd for the architecture, the sunshine, the mushrooms, dust and wine, and the syrupy sense of time.
Cripes, that was difficult enough!
Now for the second list....
Places I have not been to and would like to.
America. For years, I was one of those Brits who stared down my nose at the concept of an American sojourn. 'no, no, too tacky, too big, too commercialised...' However, upon meeting some fantastic americans since starting Uni and seeing their photo albums, I'm beginning to think (especially with regard to California) it might be a good idea.
China. I think I could cope with being stared at (and don't say this doesn't happen to tall white people in asia), especially if you get the reward of all that fantastic surrounding geography, plus all the mad taste experiences, and endeavouring to learn mandarin/cantonese etc...
Russia... Still haven't properly seen an old communist bloc country, and I'd be fascinated by the evolution of their culture, particularly after having studied the country fairly extensively. I'd want to see if it really is as clunky as people describe.
Thought long and hard about this last one. too many options, so little money. It came down to a toss-up between really exploring a European country, or going further afield. I'd probably have to say New Zealand. Africa in general scares me a little, though if I could go with a resident friend it might be better... and south america is too high! Plus, I really want to see more of maori culture.
Et voila.

I want to go to scotland,
back to ireland,
and north cornwall...
whearas I wouldn't touch east anglia with the proverbial bargepole....
la?
Where would I go?
1. Romania. My parents were both Romanian, though I was born in Canada. Romanian is my mother tongue. I so badly want to go--it's a beautiful, culturally rich country.
2. Greece. Santorini.. those beautiful blue domes.. Heaven on Earth! Love the Mediterranean. Beaches, marble terraces...
3. America. New Orleans at Mardi Gras!! My best friend and I have been planning this for a while.. when I'm out of Uni and can travel... fun times!!
4. France. A chance to perfect my french. I'd go to Paris, but I'm more interested in going to the South of France... Sitting in the sunshine, enjoying life and relaxing... walking through vineyards, appreciating the wine, the food, and the people.
Ahh... lovely images to fall asleep to!
xx

Yes, yes yes!!!!!!!!!!!
Possibly THE most beautiful island on earth.
I never feel more at peace with myself than when I'm in the north west of Scotland, where my whole family are based. Atmosphere and poetry, and true perspective....(sigh)
I also desperately want to experience the expansive plains of untouched middle Africa...surely that's got to be something breathtakingly inspiring.
Sailing around the UK would be extraordinary too - getting a totally different idea of what your own country looks like.....
****dreams of running away******
India or china (Cant decide)
Africa
Japan where i will also sneek over to Thailand. Thats Five so i just make my trip longer.
