    I'm the reverse, I admit it's the romancey crap that's cringey, the kinky submission stuff is better. I'd watch it alone -and no, not for that reason- because I'd be embarrassed that I was watching it compared to how shite the books are.

    As for the books, they were basically sexual abuse dressed up as kink. They had absolutely no relation to what BDSM is really about.
