hey, like the topic, yep im gonna fail it. we had 1 chem teacher and she was great and i totally undertood it and actually liked it cos i was good at it ("was" being the operative word)so ne way, thanks to her active sex life, she went on maternity leave!
so ne way, we got this new teacher who was ok but still.
and to put the icing and cherries on a cake, she had to leave the skool to go back home to the east apparently leaving us with a substitute for the substitute! it aint funny. this new teacher has been doing the same work 4 like nearly 5 lessons and we still have 2 topics (major 1's 2) to cover. so to sum up my life, A level chem which i was gonna do next year has hit the window and landed in a flop on the pavement below.
having to teach myself and since my brain is like a sift with a few more additional holes, that aint doing much good! need to revise so much more than wat im doing already. Dam teachers and damn those exams!

Anyway, good luck to you with your chemistry, sometimes you just have to do it by yourself and show the teachers that you can get good grades on your own without them!
Just a thought

i think ill take both ure advice and just go for it!
thanks ppl!
love saz
THought i'd reply too, im in the exact same sitaution. My chemistry teacher hates teaching an spnds most of the time tellin us how he cant wait to retire! Our practical is in 4 weeks ....... aaghhhh
I really should start workin more an goin out less! lol
I know where you're coming from with shit teachers. I remember all that from when I did my GCSE's and A-levels .... in some subjects I just did a load of work on my own and harassed other teachers of the same subject for a little help and in others, as a class we voiced our concerns and managed to get one teacher removed!!
If you do have any specific problems then go along to your teacher or another one and say something. They're paid to help you so make them do their job!!
Good luck. xxx
And extremely proud of it!
Lets cast our minds back to three years ago I was in the middle of my A-levels and having suffered a year of what you have described, mindless - seemingly pointless classes where the teacher either practises exam papers or talks to us about his time at a nearby chemical plant. I was pulled up by the head as my grades were not even passing the mark (<40%). I was told in no uncertain terms that if I did not pull my socks up and put in a little bit more effort I would not be allowed to sit the exams! Pretty rough yes?
This sparked me off prctising the past exam papers that the teachers supplied me with getting to know the best way of answering the question within. I knew all the facts but just couldn't write them down, untill after two months intensive revision I walked away with two B's and a D (I was failing two exams!)
This just goes to show, if you can do the exam papers you know enough to pass your exams, If you know how to answer the questions you WILL get a top grade!
SO the method of teaching that some teachers adopt is correct (although boring)
So before whinging about boredom and having to do most of the work yourself, just think... next year when i'm in uni, this will be my life! No body teaches you anything. YOU Have to LEARN.
Find a large empty space..could be a footy field. Stand on the spot and spread yours arms out wide. Then just start spinning, get faster and faster and faster till you think you'll fall down and just drop to the ground. Heheh not the best solution but it can help relieve sum stress you seem to be carrying.
Bloody long arms eh.
