Poor old students

Bless em! Mostly I think they must be effected by the constant hospilatisation from the splitting of sides once they have hauled some old sofa, wheelie bin or bin bag up onto the top of some poor buggers car. How funny!
And the expense of getting their mobiles upgraded or paid off must be a killer.
Just wait until the real world hit's them. It's 10 years since I left university and I'm still on £13, 000 a year and I have to pay ALL MY OWN bills - shocking. Wish I'd taken out a student loan though! I'm still not earning enough to pay one off - unfortunately I got a bank loan instead because Student loans weren't available to me!!!!!!

The idea of students as poor, baked beans-eating politicised revolutionaries is completely out of date. I am a student myself and am frequently embarrased by the cushy lifestyles and apathy of some of the poeople that I meet.
I'm just a bit fed up - Specially when I see students getting Taxi's from tescos with their shopping.
Plus - it's taking me an extra 10 minutes to get to work on my bycicle because students don't seem to view me as traffic and step out in front of me on the road without looking.
As to taking a taxi from Tescoe's, well, I have done that before to save my back from carrying heavy shopping bags for half an hour (no bike available then). I was a student at the time but I never had any qualms about that! Anyway, being a student never stopped me from donating money and there are a lot of non-students who could doubtlessly afford giving money to charities / the homeless who pretend they don't have enough money. Don't generalize.
just that the people who have been delaying my journey to work ARE students. They all turned up at the begining of term and they do have a total disregard for all traffic of any kind, including other pedestrians. And they (in General) DO leave shopping trolleys strewn along the cycle path, which are then slung into the river by kids.
However - I do understand there's a small minority who are sensible, decent people.
Perhaps it's just Cardiff that has the problem?
LOL i have to agree with Captain Kirk
GET OVER IT
13G's quite good for Wales though isn't it??
As a student, your statement is bang out of order. On the High Street we are constantly bombarded by these professional fundraisers! And it's different charities every day. I make my own contributions to Cancer Research and Yorkhill Kids Hospital in Glasgow. I do so for personal reasons and resent having to defend myself to some fool being paid £7 per hour as to why I don't wnat to contribute to whichever random charity they are promoting that day.
I despise being harangued to contribute to what I beleive to be inferior charities such as RSPCA or the PDSA whilst there are such relevant charities in need of support, such as Cancer Research, Sick Kids Hospices or Womens Aid. And if I say I can't afford it then it's because I can't afford it. Don't assume we are not contributing in other ways.
If at first you don't succeed, just leave it
Sorry, am not very good at posting yet, still learning.
I know exactly where you're talking about, and you shouldn't be going down that cycle path anyway, it's dangerous, full of flashers apparently
There are too many students in a small area up there. I was there in the first year. It's no wonder meningitis cases are so high in Cardiff!
We all usedto nick trolleys to bring home to our blocks with us, it was the done thing - you'd just need another person to help you lift it over the wheel locking magnet thing. They used to send their Tesco lorries over severa times a week to collect trolleys from us.
Funny at the time, but not funny for the residents
As for the fund raising e.t.c. It pisses me off walking down the street being harrassed by:
NSPCC
Cancer research
Big issue sellers
Beggars
Accident Direct
And all the other myriad of people asking me for money. If I wanted to contribute money then I would, without being asked. But I resent walking past a beggar and being told to fuck off if I don't give them anything, or walking past a big issue seller, buying a copy then being harrassed by the same bloke the day after. Fine, they're in a shitty situation, I'm not exactly rich myself, but it pisses me off when people assume we are.
