If you could give parents 3 rules/guidelines/top tips, what would they be?

a) don't smother your kids in cotton wool. Protect them, yes. Overprotect them, not so good.
b) support them in whatever the want to do/be (unless it's breaking the law or similar!)
c) remember the good old days. A good hug and a bit of interaction is better than supplying all the must have gadgets.
2. Babies like routine - dinner time, play time and most importantly bedtime. Trust me the routine will stop you going mad.
3. TV has it's place as an easy babysitter. However, never under estimate the power of just spending time with your kids. They grow up. Fast. So make the most of it.
2) Be consistent in the rules you set and stick to them
3) Play with your child every day
2. Don't over protect them from the real world, but take it on with them.
3. There's no such thing as a perfect parent, you only need to be a good enough parent.
2. Always have a pack of wet wipes handy. They'll cope with anything, up to and including nuclear spillage.
3. Sharpen the front of your buggy to 'encourage' whingey old duffers to shift out of the buggy bay on the bus.
1. If you need to smack your child, take it to a supermarket.
2. If your child is having a bad day (in pain, got a cold, tantrums etc) then take it somewhere crowded so the maximum amount of people can share your pain.
3. Buy 40 Mayfair, £10 of scratchcards, £10 of lottery tickets and the wino's alcohol of your choice (white cider, 8% lager, own brand 'sherry') then scream NO at your child for asking for 10p bag of crisps.
All knitters need to be aware of this rule... My ex used to knit alpaca hand-wash-only baby clothes. Very pretty, but no use whatsoever!
Yeah, but have you ever tried being stuck in the house with a whingey toddler? Much better to be outdoors- the screams aren't so loud, for one thing.
