Claiming tax back?

I'm a full time student at uni and during the holidays I work a few days a week in Costa Coffee. I have been paying tax on my paychecks for the last year and a half and I heard I might be able to claim it back as I'm a student.

Does anyone have info, where can I find this out, am I eligible, what do I need to do?

Students aren't exempt from tax. The majority don't pay because they haven't earnt enough to be taxed.

Tax kicks in from around the £5k-mark in any given financial year. If you haven't earnt £5k, I'd start chasing Inland Revenue.

I thought it was nearer 6k?

Check your tax code. If it's BR, then you don't a personal allowance.
