living at home!!
Just finished my first year at uni and have moved back home for the summer and its driving me up the wall! I can't go out when i want without being asked, where are you going, who with, when will you be home?
I have to eat with the rest of the family, not when i want to.
This morning I even had to get up when my FOURTEEN year old sister demanded that i did cos it was 1 o'clock! Fuck off! I will get up when I want!
Also, at uni, its a five minute walk and i'm in town. Here, i have to drive for at least 20 mins before I'm there. :banghead:
Ugh and I have three more months of this til i get to go back and move into my new house, my own private room with a lock on the door, and my own bathroom
Anyone else hate living at home? I just cant wait until i can be independent again!

I didnt mean it like that, i just love being independent, and being able to do my own thing and now that I'm home again i cant.
Come on, there must be somebody who gets what i mean?
Good:
- It's shitloads cheaper
- Meals
- Laundry
- Nicer place
- Cleaner place (most likely!)
- All my stuff is here (heh)
- Good to chat to parents about things when things get bad
- I get on well with everyone
Bad:
- Miles away from work (like, 95 of them)
- Not good for socialising locally, even worse for socialising with work people!
- Sometimes crowded
I guess i loved it so much cos I'm so independent and this was the first place that was actually mine, all by myself, instead of having to share it with siblings like when i was growing up *sigh*
Of course i appreciate the free food and free washing as well
But I honestly didn't mind moving back home, my mum and dad never question where I am going so I can just come and go. I don't eat with them and buy my own food so don't have to worry about family meals (though we have never done family meals ever). I don't pay rent and get my washing done which is always a bonus!
This is what it's like for me, but for some reason, I do keep asking them if it's ok and have been told I don't need to say that. As long as they know where I am, it doesn't matter.
If it's because you've nowhere else to go - well, that is proper low. Got up at 1pm by your little sister. LOL reality check sweetheart
all my school friends took a gap year, im so jealous there still at uni. Im confident a can pick up a job in the area to keep me busy, but a bit of a culture shock after having all your mates around you at uni.
Thing is it's likely i'll be here a while, all the job oppotunities seem to be in London, so looks like i'll stay here with my family in Watford for a bit , hmm
I am gonna be working and i do have a car so i imagine i'll be out and about alot just to be able to be by myself.
I get what you mean totaly, really annoying living with parents, specially if you wanna bring a "friend" back for a night of fun, brothers/sisters really annoy the fuck out of me at times, however since moving away me n my bro speak more and more than we did when I was there
