Title says all my mate has persuaded me to go out wih him n about 5 others (4 girls n another guy) no idea where we are going.. i dont mind really but how do i make a good impression on them?

My mate said he wouldnt of invited me if he thought they would hate me so thats a start but im not very lively :(i will try my best at making convosation but theres more girls there it might make things awkward

tips n thoughts please :)

    Tip number 2 : Ask the girls questions so that they do most the talking until you get more confident.

    Yea stuff like, how do you know so and so, are you at school/college, what are you studying.
    Just see them more as friends rather than members of the opposite sex who could potentially be partners, that way youll be more relaxed around them.

    I'd say, as hard as it can be, try not to over-think it too much beforehand. Try to relax and just be yourself. Listen to the people who are making more conversation and chip in where you can if you don't feel like initiating! Smiling is always good as Goodfella says. Hope you have a good time :)

    Have a few stock questions to ask if conversation seems a little slow - like about films or food or chocolate or other pretty generic stuff and otherwise just get into the conversation.

    At uni when i was a fresher a few years back we had a break the ice sorta thing where we would go round, say who we were, an interesting fact and show everyone your pants.

    Great ice breaker ... though maybe not what you're after :p

    Yeh i was chatting to a girl who goes to college who i know and i was like "oh itll be hard for me to make friends" n she was like
    "no they have intro games to get used to new people"

    which would help :D

    I find people very nervewracking but hopefully they'll all be lovely so it'll be grand!

    I think were just going to a quiet park that they know and just general socialising im not too sure. I'll leave if it drags too much though.
