Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
If someone wrote you an email beginning with the following line - how huuuuuge do you think they'd be? :)

I'm a curvy, voluptuous, vivacious, bubbly, blonde lady....

Yeah but they only work when supported by a narrower waist.

    Most likely maybe even obese.

Anyone who says, Slim and Attractive means 'I come with love handles'.

I'd say about 16 stone. Is she super skinny or something?

It's the 'bubbly' part which worries me.

'Bubbly' normally means 'annoying', 'squeaky' or those people who are just loud and giggly, but desperately insecure.

well, i'm not so sure...i'd describe myself as curvy and i'm a size 12 ish, and my scales tell me i weigh a stone and a half more than i should...i think they lie because i have freakishly muscley legs and getting muscly arms...

its the word bubbley that makes me think she might look a bit like beth ditto...but i think she looks utterly amazing...

but why the fuck does her size matter if she has a cracking laugh and a brilliant personality, great eyes and a cheaky grin?

Some women always feel the need to point out their size, I have noticed. How much someone weighs shouldn't really matter - not unless they're so thin/fat it's putting their health in serious danger, anyway. Unfortunately, a lot of people are of the mindset that looks matter more than anything else.

Why do you think celebrity magazines have such a big market? All those women are not buying them because they consider pictures of naked men with strategically placed objects to protect their modesty to be art.

i think this is a different discussion, but i think celebrity magazines pray on women's insecurities and have made a whole industry upon it...and its immoral

It's true, but I think it's also women who go out and buy the fashion magasines and want to look amazing etc. who fuel the industry. It's a bit circular really.

Also, as for the OP, I would guess size 16?

i do agree, it is a bit circular, but i think they are becoming (very slowly) more constructive than destructive...with healthy eating recipes and featuring fashion which is adaptable for all sizes...

Yeah but then they contradict all that with all the cosmetic surgery ads at the end.

    I just don't buy them.

I would probably think 14-16, would be interested to know what the men out there actually think though, what size women do you actually like?

I think it depends how she holds it overall. Some people look good a bit bigger, some don't. Dress size is too arbitrary to actually make a good decision on. My last girlfriend was a size 8/10 and that was pretty sweet, but she had quite a delicate frame so I think more wouldn't have worked so well.

Yeah, dress sizes mean nothing. It's how you where them.

Besides, if you shop at H&M then you could be all the sizes of the rainbow!

It's how the beauty industry makes money...

Trin... Have you read the Beauty Myth? I shall lend it thee...

Random: I love the word reubenesque when applied to the larger woman.

To be honest, I see size as irrelevant. If you feel great then you look great. Confidence speaks volumes. I mean, even Beth Ditto as an example. I have no idea what size she's supposed to be but in some of those photo shoots she looks great! So full of confidence!
