As the title suggests, what are you fantastic at and what are you crap at ?
Really good at -
Dumplings. They're light, fluffy and downright orgasmic.
Cake, as you may of guessed
Meringues. I make 'em the way i like 'em. Crispy outside and chewy centre.
Pastry.
Chilli and Bolognaise (usually because i make it the day before and it's so much better the day after)
Really crap at -
Ice cream. I've tried and tried but it just comes out like a frozen lump of eurghhhh. Though i make a mean Granita.
Yorkshires. Use to be good at them, but they're really shit now. Maybe it's the fan oven.
Sure there's some more i'm not good at, see if i can remember 'em. Thing is, if you're not good at something, you don't make it

lol. I'm the same - can't cook most things. Can't even use a pasta cooker.
wow, are you good at cleaning and sewing too?
are you seeing someone?
Same, I'll pretty much give anything a go
i also make nice homemade soups, homemade chilli con carne, homemade shepherds/cottage pie, homemade lasagne, etc. just the norm, nothing special
however, im shit at making homemade curries. this is something ive yet to master so end up using jars of sauce gonna try and make it homemade again soon though.
I make a mean chicken chow mein though.
I'm decent at making most meat, but then it's not exactly hard. I've just discovered the griddle pan though, so I'm loving my steak atm. With red wine sauce too.
I'm still struggling to get fish right. It always tastes okay, but not quite as good as my mum can do it for some reason.
My problem is that I don't really cook meals. I just cook individual things and put them together on the plate. Yes, I know that's the definition of a meal, but you know what I mean. My best things come from starting with a recipe from t'internet, and then cooking it a few times until I get what I like.
I'm determined to learn some more off've this website, because the chow mein was lovely, and I'm wanting to move to Asia for a bit, so it might be an idea to learn to cook local stuff (cheaper that way).
Usual studenty stuff, spag bol, curries, fries, steak and peas, plus anything that just involves chucking something in the oven. Could get by on my own but prefer to rely on my parents.
However if it involves raw meat I won't do it. Somebody else can trim and cook it and I'll do the rest. I'm not a vegi, but bloody juicy and godforbid raw chicken make me throw up... and not, oh that makes me puke overexagerating... i will actually throw up
Nothing. That's why it annoys me that suddenly my rice is coming out rubbish.
I'm shit hot at baking though. Check out my choccy cupcakes!
A little too lovely. Are they actually yours, or just the recipe book photo of what you cooked? If not, then good photography too. :thumb:
They're actually mine. And yes, my photo too
Oh wow. They look fab. How did you make them - I'd love to bring something like that into work and impress everyone.
