Okay peeps here's the deal. I just downloaded the spider-man movie on .avi format and for some reason its not playing. Any ideas on what I should do or what program to use for playing it? I've only got a crappy 56K modem so as you can imagine this took bloody ages to DL!!!

What does the error message say? Maybe it was a bad download, or windows media needs updating.
I'll try a newer media player I suppose.
All better now.
I remember it as being quite good.
i hope your downloaded works now, its a great film spider-man, not as good as Star Wars <IMG SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

Firstly you should get broadband otherwise this becomes very lengthy and quite stupid, failing this (as the UK is unfortuatly behind in public broadband net technology) make sure you have an unlimited connection account and your ISP doesn't go disconnecting you after periods of idle time otherwise its bloody annoying...
1) Download and install DivX player, links have been provided above.
2) Download a fileshare program (ie. KaZaA Lite, Morpheous, Limewire, Imesh etc.) via either http://www.download.com or a search on Google
3) Search for the movie by name, these can be in two parts each being like 700mb each depending on encoded quality or format.
Download and play in either DivX player or some other player.
