Driving test

Was given two major faults - 'tight steering' the reason for them. The guy did not explain what it was, and I do not think he meant 'steering into and out of tight spots'. Would anyone know what this means? My instructor was not too sure...:banghead:

So if the "tight steering" was tearing you up, then surely someone has mentioned it, why didn't you ask them what it is?

because the grumpy examiner who classed them major faults had to rush off before he could explain them...

Perhaps you were driving too close to the side of the road or to the other cars, taking turns too tight

I reckon this might be right... not taking the correct/safe line when turning corners so that it is possibly dangerous for other cars?

    yes that could be it

Thanks Helen, have my own thread now!

Yes, I suspect driving too close to traffic was what he meant by tight steering - but then again he seemed very comfortable, never had to yank the wheel from me and I don't recall ever thinking I was too close to other cars or the kerb... and these were two major faults.

Well, life goes on, and there are more tests to take...

    ... and more examiners....:nervous:
