what determines how a scar will be?
What makes some purple and others white??
When i 'interfere' with a cut it tends to heal as a red/purple scar, obviously.
But i cant remember what might have made the white ones ive got white?
Im asking becausing ive got a gaping cut and id like to know what itll look like when its healed
(i know it should be steristripped etc etc-i dont need that advice i just wanna know about scars)
thank u

Hi
From what i remember when i had mine. If the cuts are cleaned, resist the urge to pick at the scabs, the cuts will heal quicker, hence less red/ scabs fall away, over time. They usually fade from purple to white, then a silver/skin tone as the cuts are fully healed.

This factsheet on scars and healing might be useful.
I was going off that experience, some still went purple though-as they healed.
