Because they are fucking excellent, thats why.
Psst... Ebb, don't let everyone in on it, there wont be enough for me!
These days it's almost a question of why not take drugs.

Converted!!
Watch it, pal. I don't mind if you do, or don't take drugs, but don't insult me for not.
I am willing to suggest that I have had more experiences that are pretty special, without the aid of drugs, than you. After all, anyone can, and do buy drugs. Some experiences require a little bit more than money.
It's a good question. The answer is individualistic - everyone has their own reasons. Fair play if you want to, fair play if you don't. Don't criticise either way, mmnokay?
smoke weed everyday!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn right!
ehhhh? But how can you know what kind of experiences lie beneath the realm of reality without taking the drugs to get there?

Tell me what you think it is like to fly, and I will answer. Tell me what you think it is like to fall from 6000 feet, and recover your aircraft, and I will answer. Tell me what it feels like to touch the wings of eagles over the coast, and I will tell you.
Yet I have not transcended reality, but have merely been there.
Does it make it less of an experience?
No, I don't think so.
excuse me ? would you like to explain that comment ?
It may be why you tried it, but in my experience this is not why most people start using drugs. I agree some people start so they can lose weight, over come problems or be cool, but these are wrong reasons. I think like me, most people start because they're fun!
This goes back to that other thread on whether or not non users are missing out. As I said before to a certain extent I think they are. A lot of my best memories and best nights of my life have been while pilled up. I, like most recreational drug users have no regrets what so ever.
If however, some people don't feel the need and don't have the curiosity to try them that's fine. Respect to them cos whatever way you look at it most drugs are bad for you're health.
Each to their own innit...
apart from having had the odd 'normal' ciggy in the very very past, i aint ever had drugs and never want to.
ive seen what its done to a close friend of mine and dont want that to happen to me!
It's a self defeating argument if you have to highlight the dangers of the things we are allowed to take to justify illegal drug use.
Go on - surprise me - give me a REAL reason Why!
If you can't then perhaps you're not educated enough to use them?
Although I agree with this, the argument is still useful to demonstrate how narrow minded, ingnorant and hypocritical most people can be. There are so many people dissing and cussing drug users when they themselves consume alcohol, which is certainly just as damaging as all the illegal drugs put together.
Are give you a reason why, drugs are fucking excellent fun! ...well that's good enough for me and millions of others.
Byny, give me a reason why alcohol shouldn't be made illegal?
I don't think it should be, the majority use it sensibly, its can be fun in moderation and contributes alot of tax into the public purse, the alcohol industry employes many people, make it illegal you get alot of unemployment, taxes like VAT go up and you deprive alot of sensible harmless people of something they enjoy
But I don't see why select drugs can't produce similar scenario's, opening cannabis cafe's for example would contribute millions, maybe billions to public spending, i read somwhere the other day the government could virtually re-build our railways with money generated from taxes on cannabis and you also get a fair amount of employment created, into the bargian its now widely accepted cannabis is better mentally, physically and socially for individuals and society.
Now, I don't neccessarily think the 'alcohol is legal' argumant is invaild, purely because its about choice, if the governemt sees fit to allow people to make their own educated decision about alcohol consumpition, then I also belive that people should be allowed the choice of whether they consume something of equal danger to all concerned, now I see your saying it would only double the danger, which is a fair point and I no it wouldn't be an either/or scenario, people would use both, but its about weighing up benefits versus negatives.
In my opinion the benefits of legalising cannabis in particular would outweigh the extra problems it would create, its worth remembering whilst extra problems would be created, some would be abolished, drug dealers, arrests, clogging up the prisons and potentially wrecking peoples lives with reagrds to future employment, freeing up police time to concentrate more pressing matters.
I suspect the governemt are in possesion of far more facts and figures than any of us, I also suspect they know legalising cannabis would probably be beneficial, but until they've public opinion on their side they won't act, compromising votes is something they simply won't risk.
2. I don't have an argument for why alcohol should be made illegal as I don't think it should - why argue omething you don't believe in!
All I'd like is a little bit of a more sophisticated argument as to why drugs should be legalised. Saying they are 'just as bad as fags and alcohol' shows no understanding of Drug use and is probably an argument used by those people who still think they are being 'naughty' or subversive by using dope.
Probably their parents fault for not being open about how widespread it is.
Surely a better argument for the legalisation of drugs is the facts we know about the countries who do have a maore mature attitude. And the fact that by legalising drugs we will find it easier to help those who have real serious addiction and want to do something about it.!!!
