There are a few very good cakes.

First exhibit is the cake I baked myself in 3 kitchen wrecking hours. It actually tasted super nice. I think it's the work I put in.

second exhibit is the first cake in the making, in the middle is jam and marzipan.

exhbit 2, STRAWBERRIES! I eat so little fruit, but I love strawberries. So here is a piece of my home-made (with help of my mum) strawberry cake.

exhibit 4: Nothing really compares to an original Sachertorte made by the Hotel Sacher. they are piss expensive and a dream.

exhibit 5: Mozart cake. with light chocci cream and green marizpan/pistaccio cream inside. It's delish.

nigella does a banana bread recipe which tastes amazing for how simple it is - so moist - you have to soak raisins in bourbon first........mmmmmmmmmm

Ahh I forgot about Sachertorte. The family I stayed with in Austria showed me how to make one of those.

    Currant-Rasin cake

My friend's mum makes a very nice white cake with strawberry cream-stuff and coconut, but I don't know if it has a name (other than "That layer cake with the strawberries and coconut":p ).

Flourless chocolate cake, maybe with a bit of citrus-y flavour. I am also quite partial to a really dense carrot cake, like someone said, its all about the icing...

    Banana cake :)

You can buy slices in Pret, which have a yoghurt topping.

I don't know anywhere else you can get it, although Waitrose do a banana loaf.

If I had an oven I would make banana and walnut cake every week.
