Ooh I've just remembered when I used to stay at my bf's we'd have cheese and this mega hot chilli sauce toasties. They were the shit! (literally if you ate too many of them)

I don't really have toasties now, cos the machine is hard to clean. Cheese and pickle is a winner though

Anyone tried the toastie bags? My mam had some when I went back home and I thought they were quite the buisness :)

    Tuna mayonnaise and cheese

    Corned beef and hamburger relish.

Cheese and chilli relish, also good on baked potatoes!

    Frankfurters and fried onion

    Garlic sausage is nice.

You know those little jars of pizza topping, I think it's Buitoni or something... well that, and cheese and other bits and bobs like sliced black olives, ham, pineapple, mushrooms, onions... anything you'd put on a pizza really.... makes DELICIOUS toasties.

    How does that work then?

Cos like my corn beef was prepared yesterday, so was inthe fridge - and was cold - but cos the sandwich making machine seals the edges it creates a lot of hot air inside the bread which makes it really hot inside and is more then enough to heat it up from cold, but under a grill you wouldn't have that same seal and hot air.

BTW used brown bread - so weren't so good this time.

I usually have cheese and ham toasties, i simply make the sarnie, put under grill open to start with so cheese melts, then put together and toast both sides.
The edges aren't sealed but they don't need to be.

    Custard :)

But it has to be on white bread (and in a machine) and it can scald so be careful, but yummy!
