Greetings,
I'm quite self consious. So I'd like to find out how one determines they have bad breath, and then how one can fix the problem.
How is it caused? How is fixed for good?
I consider my hygiene habits to be good.
Thanks,

lick the inside of your wrist..........let it dry.........then sniff it. that's what your breath smells like <IMG alt="image" alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/eek.gif"> .
bad breath has two possible causes, dental or intestinal. the easiest to check is dental, so, if it is a problem, visit the dentist soon. it may just be a simple case of regular flossing, or you might have gum disease which the sooner it's sorted, the better.
if that isn't the cause, then you have to make a visit to your doctor to see if you have a digestive problem.
as a temporary measure, parsley is good for eliminating oral odours. you can get it in tablet form. drifter should be able to advise you on that.

I always have suspected that I may have something wrong with my digestion. Although it could simply be a gum disease.
If my gums hurt sometimes, or even bleed does that indicate an irregularity or is it from brushing too hard?
I really want to solve this as constantly worrying about this is really annoying me.
Kat, any handy hints for keeping the tongue clean?
Who should I go see first? dentist? doctor?
Thanks guys,

I'd go tot the doctors first, rule out digestion problems coz im sure your dentists would only send you there anyway. Do u have a 6 month check up? if you do then its unlikely to be your gums.
GOOD LUCK!! hope its nothing serious.
dentist first, its easier to determin a dental problem. bleeding gums could be a sign of the start of a gum disease, but its usually hard brushing. good luck

bleeding gums can be a sign of a poor diet, lack or iron or summat i think...you'll have to check that. But in the short term, chewing gum totally hides bad breath, but it would be best to have it checked at the denist, bleeding gums can e a sign of gum disease and if thats the case its best to catch it early or it can lead to lots of problems
