When a 8y/o tells you that they are going to 'make you die' and another tells you that she is going to cut off another child's fingers and 'slice her throat' then I wonder why I am in this profession.
On Friday I told the class that I am not teaching - I am doing crowd control :yeees: They weren't impressed.

I constantly get children telling me they are going to 'fucking deck the shit out of him' and the like (swearing and all!). Such are the joys.
And Stace, it is a brand new school, with fantastic teaching staff and resources who bend over backwards to help the children, but it is in a really rough, notoriously bad area of Sheffield. Round the corner from the school, there was a stabbing a couple of weeks ago and alot of the parents / carers are druggies / criminals etc.
I have once child who was off school today visiting his dad who is in prison for armed robbery
Thats sad though really that kids are brought up in that kind of environment. Do you not have to report the parents if you hear about them being druggies and stuff?
I have been in a prison before (visiting) and I don't think that a child should ever go through that. Its not nice
It sucks big eggs but there is not a lot we can do about it tbh. Social Services in Sheffield are a big joke, so we have to provide as much stability for the children as we possibly can. After that, there isn't much else we can do.
