Anyone know how to make a cold or whatever go away REALLY soon? I caught this one when I was outside in the rain on wednesday night in a T shirt and combats, and I've had sore throat/sneezes/cough/achey body/blocked nose/feeling tired/earache since.
Tried Lockets, Lemsip, Paracetamol so far,as well as switching to menthol cigerettes, I havn'y had any fags today though and I feel worse .
Oh, I tried the good old "get really drunk" trick as well, which didn't do much for me.
Any hints, tips, or remedies will be really appreciated, cheers xxx

on the other hand, no, i've got no clues. i just drink a lot of lemsip-stylee stuff and blow my nose a lot.
a curry is supposed to be good as well. a really really HOT one. =P
As rule of thumb colds are 3 days a-coming, 3 days with you, and 3 days going. There's not a lot you can do to get rid of them. I use Day Nurse/Night Nurse but I don't think it does very much. Lockets are OK. And I think someone said Nurofen was good, or it might have been Anadin Cold&Flu.
*is hurt*
Plenty of room in my bed, that'll keep you warm, wahey!

Oh yeah Turtle, I ate curry and spicy food all day Saturday, I mean like 3 meals!! Imagine what that would do combined with a load of alcohol...
Oh, had 3 litres of Sunny D as well (had about the same effect as the curry !!)
Marmite: Cheers for teh offer to keep me warm, but I'm as hot as fuck as it is right now anyway. Wouldn't want you to catch it as well
Thank you people xxx
Time to dispell an age old myth. You DON'T catch colds/flu from been in the cold etc... You catch colds/flu from others via tiny droplets of sputum passed by coughing, sneezing, breathing and kissing. If anything the cold air prevents the spread of colds as it kills all the nasty bugs mid-air. The reason you are more likely to catch them when its cold is because your body is more vunerable as its energy sources are absorbed keeping warm. Once you've got a cold, its tough ! just boost your immune system with healthy eating, sleep and staying warm and let it work its magic !
Charley get well soon babe, i hate having a cold, you always forget what a nightmare they are till you've got one
When your immune system rids you of a cold the killer cells stay in your blood stream for ages just in case it returns, so it is virtually imossible to catch the same cold twice, this is how vaccinations work if you keep catching colds their must be a small problem with your immunity, possibly caused by your diet are you a vegetarian ? don't just accepting colds, go see your doc and he may be able to put a stop to it
I now have a cold from hell that started in my throat and spread to my nose. Still in work though and drinking a vile vegetable juice thing from called V8. Blergh.
Still - if it goes quickly I guess it'll be because of the veg and vitamin C
get 2 bed now !!!!!!!!!!
friday and I feel kind of responsible.
Mind you I'm feeling really crap now!
I'm a vegetarian, is that bad??
Also have similar food problems to GB, making my hair get thinner .
Feel a little better today, actually went to school anyway.
meat is a valuable component of the human diet, things such as iron and protien are important in our well been. It isn't bad been vegeterian as long as you make up the lost nutrients elsewhere, like supplements
