    Hmm. Year abroad from Uni.

Walking up from the metro in Moscow, through Redeemer gate and seeing St. Basil's coming up over the slope of Red Square was a phenomenal feeling. Definitely something I'll remember forever.

All things considered though, 2006 hasn't been a great year.

Meeting Leigh has been good, though i actually met him last year, but we became partnerised this year.

Next year ? Hmmmm well hope the combo i'm on now still works, and a little less crap in the noggin would be good.

    Aww

My highlight was probably finally snaring the man of my dreams [], though finishing Uni was pretty signifigant... and turning 21 was pretty nifty too. The bad pretty heavily outweighed the good this year so definitely best to focus on the faaabulous shit that did happen :D

2007 is - fingers crossed - going to involve a move abroad at some point. Hoping to get to Oz to see my bezzie, too.

    Highlights of my year:
Finally becoming happy and realising what happiness was without having a boy around
Cutting contact with my ex of 3 years - best move I ever made
Making loads of new friends since splitting up with him, making loads of friends through my new job and my summer job
Getting a job at my student union

Hopefully, next year, my highlights will be:
    Graduating with a GOOD degree
    Passing my driving test
Going on a nice holiday after finishing uni with my best mate
Getting a new job and moving to some place new
And maybe, just maybe, I'll meet someone special after all of this around September/October time :)

    My highlights:

Passing my driving test and getting a car
Actually doing ok in my degree
Realising there is much more to life than hanging about with the (now ex) boyfriend

    Hopefully next year:

Getting a good degree and either the job or one of the postgrad courses I'm applying for is pretty much my only big hope, other than the usual health and happiness.

Highlights this year were slim, but turning 18 was probably one, and qualifying for my first year was rather nice too.

Next year hoepfully I'll have a lot to celebrate. Not overly sure what like. The low point will be when the boyfriend runs away to Uni though :crying:

I've known him for at least eight years - maybe going on for a decade :o - I think he might have been my first crush actually. Though I haven't been actively pursuing him for that entire time, I guess I always knew I'd get him in the end, resistance is futile mua ha ha.

But yeah, he's been travelling ever since I've known him though (dodgy past and all that, only adds to the allure) and only home for the odd Xmas and other random visit. Was back for a month earlier in the year and for the first time we were both single, and things felt a bit different. Decided to go away to Vienna for a long weekend while he was back, ate loads of nice cake and had a fantastic shagfest but I didn't let myself start having all the romantic little fantasies as I knew fine well he was going back to Thailand almost as soon as we got back. About a fortnight later he called me out of the blue asking if he sold up, tied up his loose ends over there and moved back then would I fancy giving things a fair crack of the whip? Of course I said yes and he was back within the month. The rest, as they say, is history :thumb:

Stacey I was at St Martin's in Lancaster doing Nursing :)

2006... oh boy, it's been a long year.
    - Managing to get closer to my friends
    - Ladytron, Trabant and John B
    - Getting the confidence to cook :D

    2007
    - GRADUATING!
    - Hopefully moving abroad (am thinking Germany)

    2006:
-Growing as a person with new experiences and starting to understand the meaning behind everything.
-overcoming my shyness (not completed :( )
-Keeping my high standard at school.
-Just being happy and chilling out.

2007: Ahh, A-levels, am looking forward to it. Meeting new people with similar interests etc. Leaving my school, never to return (how unrealistic that seems tbh).
-Real ladies time. :p It hasn't been crappy at the moment but it's been so, disappointing and sporadic...like mania. One day i have this intense feeling of elation and the next day I feel like taking a jump from the closest bridge.
-Looking forward to next year actually, i hope my expectations aren't too high.

Watching two good friends stop arsing about and start dating. We're already under instructions to get saving for a big hat. My first time skiing was pretty nifty too, as was getting absolutely mortal at BT's expense.

Apart from that, its been quite a mediocre year. My job isn't as good as the one I was in last year, we've now got a cat, and my sister-in-law temporarily moved in for over three months (though on the plus side she's pissing off soon).

Moving in with friends at uni for the first time.
Discovering the joy that is sex. ;)
Generally having a good time in life, and lots of gigs.

In 2007 I am looking forward to

The possibility of moving to Leeds to do a masters.
Hopefully doing well in my degree.

I guess (some of) the highlights of 2006 so far are:
    • Becoming a big bro
    • Deciding to un-give up on some things (not that it has made a big difference so far)
    • Realising I can choose who I am

In 2007 (or the rest of 2006), I hope:
    • To get a life (in the form of real friends, or a girlfriend, or both)
    • To get a driving license
    • To find what I need to start working on my "secret project".

All I can think of for now.

Getting together with my boyfriend, after us both not daring for about a year.

That was better than graduating, actually. Graduating was my 2nd best thing for 2006.

And and OMG, I almost forgot...another highlight of this year was Evanescence releasing their new album after waiting for 3 years for it to come out! Also, seeing them play live in London after not going to one of their gigs for 2 years! That was AMAZING tbh
