Our new survey on religion and personal belief is now live - along with a chance to pick up some £20 Amazon vouchers for 5 lucky winners (just in time for Christmas).

Head on over to our 'Be heard' page and fill it in, we're genuinely fascinated by what the results might be

I don't know how evil Buddhism is, and the violence, but i do agree that in history organised religions and conflicts between religions has led to a lot of blood.. sadly but truly.

yes, but i don't believe it balances out. I can't count bodies, but the profound suffering from conflicts is just..immense.

I'm not about to say they're all bad, some do a lot of good. but I dont think it balances out with the harm they've caused, and are still causing to be honest. obviously Buddhism seems pretty friendly... and I've not ever read about violent terrorist Hindus either.

as for Christianity and Islam, (other ones too I expect) they've been abused by the superiors of the organisations to control the masses and incite hatred towards others throughout history, to this day.

You must note however, I'm not saying I dislike or disagree with the teachings of either of these, just the way they are organized, and being used to manipulate the masses.

I think I'm more an atheist than I realised. Started the survey, got to about Q4 and thought, I have no real conviction in finishing this.

I didn't like the christmas question either, I wanted a space to explain why I celebrated christmas, as none of the options seemed to fit, and there wasn't one :grump:

I thought I was the only person who knew that song!

    ...with Natwest!

"Do you believe in sin?" was difficult. I believe there is right and wrong, but no 100% defenition, it is defined by society... but it is there. So I chose no.

12 was interesting too. I see it that to most people it is a time of giving/recieving gifts, as this is all it is in these days of consumerism. It'd be nice to see some values attached with it these days. But to me, it is mostly a Holiday on the calender.

For me the spirituality question was the toughest - too complex to define in a few words!
