Okay so I dont know about anybody else but one of my favourite things to do is to go out and about in bolton/manchester and see local bands, whether its my friends band or just one that i know from seeing them some other time. I just love live music.
I just think theres so much talent out there that you can watch by popping down to the pub and paying like £3/£4. awesome! I also think that myspace is really good for unsigned bands too, like you see a band when you're out, search for them on there and then listen to more! :]
So this thread is for reccomendations. Post someone you like whether its a local band/your friends band/your OWN band. Post their name, a track to listen to and a link to where you can listen to it and i promise to go and check out at least one of their songs
This self could be for shameless self promotion of course.
To start the ball rolling I suggest
The Tigerpicks - Disco Punk Electro Punk
Tiger Picks
and/orrr
Obsessive Compulsive - Perfect Wreck

haha you're kidding! I went to see them last week they're co-headlining a tour with Roadstar which is my friends band, so I went to see Roadstar but I got to see The Answer too...they were SO bad. rubbish. Nice guys though, had a chat after the gig
My best friend's boyfriend Rob is the drummer in Failsafe... and I used to watch Sadie from the Slowdowns when she was in Grayson's Hour.
There used to be so many good bands round here - Rhythmic Coughing, Echo Freddy, Grayson's Hour, November's Lie... I used to go all the time to see them when I was about 17. They're all finished now though.
