well up until i brought my new laptop, i'd recomend novatech.co.uk , but having sent my laptop back to be repaired, it came back with a faulty keyboard and they hadn't fixed what i'd asked them too (alltho they said it had been tested and found to be OK).

i'm sure it's a one off and they have been very good in the past, but i'll be taking my purchases a bit more seriously, rather than doing a one stop at novatech. they do do a good 2 year carepack though, and they came and picked it up for free.

maybe any publicity is good publicity. perhaps i shouldn't have opened my mouth

Mostly I buy from www.overclockers.co.uk and sometimes www.cclonline.com

Overclocks is not cheap, but generally does quality stuff. CCL is good value.

    Tried, tested, top quality sites
    www.scan.co.uk
    www.dabs.co.uk (or .com, maybe?)
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/

Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but cheap
    www.ebuyer.co.uk
    www.novatech.co.uk

never tried this site but it looks cheap enough - www.advancetec.co.uk

    For everything else, there's www.amazon.co.uk

I've got a mate that swears by eclipse computers - http://www.eclipse-computers.com/ - but haven't used them myself

    another I've never used:

Did you want to play games?

    get something like this http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=150992&source=Froogle

The 6200 isn't really a card for gamers, more a budget solution for DVD playback etc.

6600 will make you happy :)

What's on your shopping list already? Oh, and if you have an SLI motherboard, you can just get the same graphics card your planning on buying twice?

If you want to play recent games then you need a 6600GT minimum! Nothing less will do. You may as well save your money and keep saving if that's the case.

The 6200 is like the old 5200, utter shite. I had one myself.

Well Half Life 2 isn't the most demanding of games on everything maxed out so if that's all you are going to play on then don't upgrade. If you want to play on anything recent then you need a decent card, it's that simple. Cheaping out on PC components doesn't get you anywhere.. If you want something half decent you need a 6600GT. Or a 7600 if they are the same price.

Why were there 2 DVI Ports on the other one:confused:
Does that mean i have 2 screens? If so i would prefer a DVI And a standard Screen ports because i dont have 2 DVI Things

Some with 2 DVI ports allow some fancy schmancy stuff across monitors, others just output 2 signals that are the same.

Doesn't seem to be on their website. They don't seem to stock the 6600 anymore, just the 7600 which starts at about £80. ETA: they do have one 6600 but it's £87.

I've got a 7300. How good is that? Not that I really care, I don't play games. But it's just that it seems to be in your price range. It's got 256MB of RAM too.

I read in another thread that your Mobo supports AGP only. So remember you need an AGP GFX card.

You need to start learning about components you are buying and how good they perform. Read some reviews etc and get a feel of what's currently on the market. Buying PC components blind these days is not a good idea.

EEEK!!! Then what one is that? im only looking at the picture and what it says in breif detail because i've always used ones that have a lil slot in the card and connect to the Highest Port - So i wont be able to use the ones i use?

The ones with a small slot in them and connect to the highest Port on the mobo?
